Hightower Was His Name is a song written by the bard Rolland Rivers and performed for the Queen's Feast in celebration of the newly established diarchy. It was inspired by the events of the War of the False King.

LyricsEdit

The king of madness, the king of flames,

Hightower was his name,

He wore a crown of treachery,

And ruled with tyranny.

In this False King’s hold, a frightened lioness.

A princess. A captive. A damsel in distress.

The king of madness, the king of flames,

Hightower was his name.

The golden lion, the rightful king, he roared,

As dark wings carried dark words,

My sister! My sister!

For these crimes he will answer!

The king of madness, the king of flames,

Hightower was his name.

The golden lion marched against his enemy’s castles and towns,

They cowered under his might and came crashing down

But, the last of them! The False King’s tower!

It could not fall!

The king of madness, the king of flames,

Hightower was his name.

The False King laughed, for him; no headsmen!

Yet he was sorely mistaken,

For approached the blood of Old Valyria, the Queen!

An entrance most unforeseen.

The king of madness, the king of flames,

Hightower was his name.

She soared atop her steed, a dragon, a winged beast!

Determined to end this with the False King deceased!

And so the two met atop the Hightower,

In a brutal clash, a burning dance, a spectacle of power!

The corpse of madness, the corpse of flames,

Hightower was his name.
